RCARD: Creating Sustainable Value for Vietnamese Agriculture
The Rural Agriculture Research and Development Center (RCARD) is a scientific organization under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, established on October 22, 2013. The Center was founded in the context of Vietnam’s agriculture and rural areas facing strong demands for innovation, requiring enhanced application of science and technology, increased value addition, and sustainable development.
With the orientation of being a non-profit research organization, the Center operates in the fields of research, development, and transfer of agricultural technologies, contributing to the modernization of agricultural production and the development of the rural economy. It represents a model of scientific organization that connects research with practical production, aiming to serve the community and farmers.
The core objective of the Center is to research, apply, and disseminate scientific and technological advances in agriculture and rural development in Vietnam. Through research, experimentation, and technology transfer activities, the Center helps people access advanced production methods, improve productivity and agricultural product quality, and increase income. In practice, science and technology have made significant contributions to the added value of the agricultural sector, laying a foundation for modern and sustainable agricultural development.
In addition, the Center focuses on areas such as high-tech agriculture, ecological agriculture, circular agriculture, and climate change adaptation. These directions align with Vietnam’s agricultural development strategy in the new period, where innovation and technology application are considered key factors in enhancing the sector’s competitiveness.
Beyond research activities, the Center also emphasizes training, consultancy, technical support, and the development of demonstration models to effectively transfer scientific advances to farmers and enterprises. These efforts contribute to the establishment of efficient production models, the promotion of rural economic development, and the building of modern and sustainable rural areas.
As a bridge between science and practice, the Rural Agriculture Research and Development Center not only contributes to the development of the agricultural sector but also helps improve the material and spiritual well-being of rural communities. In the future, the Center aims to expand both domestic and international cooperation, promote innovative research, and contribute to building a comprehensive, efficient, and sustainable agricultural sector in Vietnam.
